Ray Hentzschel

Ray is the Immediate Past President of the SESA. He has 39 years of software and systems engineering governance, management, design, code and test experience in real time military applications.
In this capacity Ray negotiated a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between Engineers Australia and INCOSE that provides an abbreviated pathway to dual CPEng + CSEP certification known as Chartered Australian Systems Engineer (CASE), and subsequently developed the procedures for both organisations that implement this agreement, bringing CASE to a successful launch.
As Director of Systems Engineering in the Standardisation Office (CASG), Ray established a Materiel Standardisation Framework, in which subject matter experts can advise Defence in relation to standards applicable to their technical domain, as well as represent Defence on national and international standards development committees. Within this framework he was the Nominated Standards Authority for Systems and Software Engineering standards, where he participated in the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 international standards committee that develop life cycle process standards that underpin the Defence Capability Life Cycle. He continues with this work as the Australian expert in Systems Engineering developing professional certification standards.
