Katherine is a systems engineering and assurance practitioner with over 23 years’ international experience in industry and academia. Initially trained as a mathematician and computer scientist, Katherine has specialised in system safety and reliability engineering of complex rail projects and products. She was the Assurance Manager for the development of Automatic Train Operation and Protection system now operational on London’s Victoria Line. She was also Assurance Manager for Invensys Rail Australia (now part of Siemens), responsible for the management of RAMS across a diverse range of projects in Queensland, Victoria, China, and Hong Kong.
Katherine is now a director and principal consultant of Acmena, a systems engineering and assurance consultancy specialising in transport, founded to apply the use of innovative, practical and carefully executed systems engineering processes for successful delivery of projects.
