Dr. Kevin Doherty is a leading public-sector infrastructure executive having over 25 years experience in both project procurement and delivery and in the development and leadership of high performing infrastructure organisations in Australia and New Zealand. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Projects Victoria (OPV) where he leads a team dedicated to supporting and improving project delivery outcomes of Victorian government projects. Prior to joining the OPV, Dr. Doherty established the Western Sydney Project Office for the NSW Roads and Maritime Services, in response to the significant growth in the region as well as the opportunity to leverage and integrate the Federal government’s investment in the Badgery’s Creek airport.
Before returning to Australia in 2014, Kevin held senior infrastructure executive roles across New Zealand, including Director, Public Private Partnerships for the New Zealand Transport Agency, where he was responsible for the effective introduction and implementation of public private partnerships including the circa $1 billion Transmission Gully PPP. He also held the role of Chief Infrastructure Officer for Auckland Transport, as the head of the Infrastructure Division responsible for the delivery of Auckland Transport’s substantial capital infrastructure portfolio.
Dr. Doherty holds a Bachelors and Doctorate degree from the University of Adelaide in structural engineering and an MBA from Massey University, New Zealand
